What is your favorite memory of high school?

Passing out free burgers to friends at midnight while working at McDonalds. Hanging out at the A&W. Shave creaming parked cars while cruising up Center Street. Trips to Alcova Lake. Playing Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside in Auntie Mame and acting in the Jr. Follies and other musicals. Poker games at John Dunn's house. C Hill. Senior Day at Alcova (too much vodka - not pretty). In general just enjoying all the friends I made during my time at NCHS.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Google up the song "What I like About Texas" on Utube and you will understand why I love this state. I would also probably live in Denver since our son, daughter-in-law and grandsons live there and of course I love the mountains. That's why we make several trips pulling our travel trailer. We love to camp.

Where is the farthest you have gone on vacation?

Japan

Who was your favorite/most influential teacher?

John Welsh and Maryanne Drew

How old were you when you got married the first/only time?

29 the 1st time for about a year. Then 36 when I married Suzy.

How and in what ways have you changed since high school?

I still love people so that hasn't changed. I do hope I have learned a bit from my mistakes since high school.

Describe your ideal day.

Riding my Harley through the Texas hill country when the blue bonnets are in bloom and taking photos.

What has been the best part of your life?

Too many to list.

What music/musicians do you listen to, besides Oldies, of course.

R&B, Country Western, Jazz. Of course the most creative times were the 60's and 70's and I love the music of that era. The Eagles, especially "Hotel California" and "Life in the Fast Lane". The Best of Crosby, Stills and Nash.

What is on YOUR "Bucket List?"

Camp in all the National Parks in the US. Rent a place in Italy for about 5-6 months and tour that beautiful country as well as other places in Europe.

Do you stay in touch with any classmates? Who?

Lyle Stubson

Who did you march with at graduation?

Rich Foster

What did you think you would do after high school?

What I did.

What different jobs have you had?

Began mowing lawns when I was 10. Delivered the Casper Tribune when I was 12-14.
Sacker at Safeway and cooked burgers at McDonalds in high school. Worked for an oil field logging company and a mud company in west Texas during college.
Teacher. Community Developer. Real Estate Agent. Petroleum Landman.

What is your favorite food? Drink??

My wife's gourmet cooking.
Beer from different micro-breweries.
Bogle Merlot, Columbia Crest Grand Estates Chardonnay, Beringer California Collection Cabernet and La Vuelta Malbec. (These are cheap but good wines).
Makers Mark Bourbon. A good gin and tonic. Oh and of course, every Friday night at our favorite TexMex restaurant, Margaritas!

What is the last CD you bought?

The best of Crosby Stills and Nash.
1950's vintage country western oldies. History of the Eagles (fantastic)

What is your favorite TV show? Do you watch Reality TV? Why or Why Not?

Blue Bloods, Sunday Morning, Big Bang Theory, The Office, 60 Minutes. Reality TV is boring. Have been back into reading lately.

If you like non-fiction, I recommend "Unbroken". That's what I call a reality book. I predict a movie will be made of this one. Books by David Baldacci and Vince Flynn.

Any words of wisdom you live by?

Enjoy Life!

What would your classmates be most surprised to know about you?

I'm not as shy as I was in high school.

Oil City News Walter L. Clark Jr.: 1943 – 2023 In Loving Memory of Wally Clark Wally Clark, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2023, in Casper, Wyoming. Born and raised in the heart of Wyoming, Wally’s love for his home state and especially the city of Casper was as deep as the roots of the majestic mountains that surrounded him. Wally’s life was marked by patriotism and service. After graduating from Natrona County High School in 1962, he enlisted in the Navy, proudly serving his country with honor and dedication. His time in the Navy instilled in him a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence that he carried with him throughout his life. Wally’s love for Wyoming extended beyond its borders, as he eagerly devoured any information about his beloved state, always eager to share its rich history and natural beauty with anyone who would listen. When he returned to civilian life, Wally pursued his passions with unwavering enthusiasm. He was a dedicated fan of the New York Yankees and the Denver Broncos. In his younger years you would find him playing baseball and then fast pitch softball. Later in life he loved spending time on the golf course and even achieved the elusive hole in one! He loved watching his NC Mustangs on the football field and could be found at the T-Birds gym cheering on the basketball team! He found constant joy in the victories and camaraderie of sports. Wally’s greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Gayle, who stood by his side for 54 years, through thick and thin, sharing in his adventures and supporting him in every endeavor. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Tami {Keith} Warren, Michelle {Jeremy} Stricker, and Mark {Audrey} Clark. Wally’s grandchildren, Keeley, Keera, Luke and Dakota, filled him with an immense sense of pride. He is also survived by his two loving sisters, Nancy Clark and Judy Santoni.
